Ceremony

SAINT MARY'S CATHEDRAL

TIME
The ceremony will begin at 3:30 PM on November 14, 2026. We ask that guests arrive at 3 PM to allow time for parking and seating.
The ceremony will last approximately one hour.

PARKING
The Capitol Tower Garage is located just south of the Cathedral on the same block. It is located at 206 E 9th St. and accessed off San Jacinto Blvd. Entrance to the Cathedral from the garage is through the Donohue Center Gym and located on Elevator Floor #2.
You can park without paying by validating your ticket in the Donahue Center Gym at the kiosk by the elevator bank door.
Metered parking is also available around the area.

CEREMONY FORMAT
The ceremony will be celebrated as a traditional Catholic Nuptial Mass. During the Mass, Communion will be offered to practicing Catholics.
All guests are welcome to participate in the prayers and hymns as they feel comfortable.

Reception

All events will take place on the second level of the hotel.

VALET PARKING
Complimentary valet parking will be available for our wedding guests.

COCKTAIL HOUR
Cocktail hour will begin at 5 PM in the Quill Room and adjoining foyer on the second floor.
Guests arriving early are welcome to gather in the hotel lobby bar beforehand.

DINNER & DANCING
Dinner and dancing will take place in the Mirabeau Ballroom from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

AFTER PARTY
Following the reception, guests are invited to continue the celebration in the Quill Room until 12:30 AM.

Arrival

Austin is served by Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), located approximately fifteen minutes from downtown. For guests traveling from Kansas City, direct flights are available on Delta and Southwest.
Ride-share services and taxis are readily available from the airport and throughout the city.

Accommodations

We recommend staying in downtown Austin, within close proximity to the wedding events.

AUSTIN PROPER HOTEL

The Proper is the host hotel for our wedding weekend and the location of our reception. A room block has been arranged at a preferred rate for those who wish to stay on property.
Rooms may be reserved using the link below, or by calling 888-333-0546 and referencing the Cooney Diaz Wedding Room Block. The room block will be available through October 23, 2026, or until it is filled.

YES! PLEASE BRING A LIGHT JACKET JUST IN CASE THERE IS WEATHER ON THE DAY.

Are children allowed at the ceremony?

WE KINDLY ASK THAT YOUR CHILDREN DO NOT ATTEND THE CEREMONY BUT WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM AT THE RECEPTION!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

WE KINDLY ASK THAT THERE ARE NO PHONES & CAMERAS DURING OUR WEDDING CEREMONY. WE WILL LEAVE IT UP TO THE PROFESSIONALS.

Will there be parking available?
